Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

No. 18 Warriors Blank Wayne State 2-0

WINONA, Minn. – Freshman Abby Bohanski scored for the fifth straight game as the No. 18 Winona State soccer team blanked Wayne State 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.

The Warrior defense was stifling all game long, holding the Wildcats to just four shots and only two on goal.

It didn't take long for WSU to break through as Meg Riebau scored just over two minutes into the match off assists from Bohanski and Mehan Bolton.

The score remained until the 78th minute, when Bohanski stuck with her initial shot that was saved, regained control and found the back of the net. Bohanski has now scored a goal in all five games this season and has 12 points this season, just one shy of last year's team leader, who had 13 for the year.

The Warriors peppered Wayne State goalie Kylie Comba with 20 shots on the match, including 15 in the second half, forcing Comba to make 12 saves.

WSU goalkeeper Rachel Oleson, meanwhile, had an easy day en route to her third straight shutout, successfully stopping both of the shots on goal she faced.

Bohanski led the Warriors, placing all four of her shots on goal, while Bolton had five shots, with three landing on goal. Kati Baker also had a pair of shots on goal.

Winona State (5-0, 2-0 NSIC) is back in action Sunday at 1 p.m. when it hosts Augustana at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.
