ST. PETER, Minn. – The Winona State gymnastics team fell in a close matchup 180.775-180.200 Tuesday evening at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota.
The Warriors posted another great effort on the vault, scoring a 47.150 – the 10th-best score in team history – but struggled on the beam with a 42.475 that proved to be the difference.
Eboni Jackson and Taylor Lewis each recorded 9.500s on the vault, while Jade Donaldson scored a 9.475, Alyssa Carroll earned a 9.375, Emily Goldeman added a 9.300 and Joanna Reale added a 9.125.
WSU also outperformed the Gusties on the uneven bars with a 45.200-43.550 advantage. Katie Pipp led all gymnasts in the event with a 9.375, while Olivia Cattelino added a 9.350 and Jackson added a 9.200.
Jackson was the only WSU gymnast to score above a 9 on the beam, posting a solid 9.425. Katie Carling paced WSU on the floor exercise with a 9.450, while Carroll posted a 9.325.
Winona State enjoys a 10-day break before traveling to face UW-La Crosse on Friday, January 29 at 6:30 p.m.
