WINONA, Minn. – The sixth ranked Winona State Warriors (18-3, 9-3 NSIC) along with reigning NSIC defensive player of the week
Jamie Cairncross won in three straight sets Tuesday night as they took on the Upper Iowa Peacocks; (9-12, 3-9 NSIC) winning 25-18, 25-12, and 25-14.
Neither team could gain ground on the other in the first set until the Warriors got their first multi-point lead on the Peacocks going up 15- 12. Winona State continued to expand on the lead and won the first set 25-18.
The Warriors had a team attack percentage of .333 while holding Upper Iowa to .194 percent.
McKenna Larsen once again out assisted her opposition with 17 assists compared to the Peacocks 11, she currently ranks sixth in the nation with 11.75 per set. Larsen also had the lone serving ace of the set.
Jamie Cairncross continued to build on her 5.14 digs per set average, getting eight in the set.
Taylor Goar led with six kills while
Maria Wrage was second with five kills.
Winona State got out to an early lead in the second set and continued to roll, winning 25-12. The Warriors improved slightly to a .344 team attack percentage while holding Upper Iowa to a gloomy .065.
Goar had three service aces in the set alone.
Jordan Runge led in total attacks with nine, and scored four kills.
Danielle Rampart tied for the lead in kills with four while, that was accompanied by a team leading six digs.
In the third and final set the Warriors continued their winning ways beating Upper Iowa in dominant fashion 25-14. Winona State had two blocks in set three led by
Lauren Kudronowicz who had two block assists followed by Goar and
Meghan Seymour with one each, Seymour also led with 15 assists. The Warriors tough defense held the Peacocks to a .000 attack percentage, while attacking at a .382 clip themselves. Rampart stood out in the final set of play compiling three serving aces, three digs and six kills. Goar also had an impressive set to close things; she finished with five digs and three kills.

st in NCAA with 5.14 digs per set tonight she had 11 averaging 3.66.
Larsen is sixth in nation in assists per set with 11.75 tonight she had 30 averaging 15 in her two sets of play.
Kudronowicz led the Warriors with a .667 attacking percentage finishing with 15 attacks and ten kills.
Goar finished first in total attacks with 27, ten of which were kills.
Rampart led in kills with 12 while finishing second in total attacks with 25. Her 12 digs led the Warriors.
Goar and Rampart tied for the team lead with three serving aces each.
Winona State is now tied for fourth in the NSIC as Augustana fell to Wayne State.
The Warriors travel for back to back games to take on #13 Northern State Oct. 21, then MSU Moorhead Oct. 22.
