ABERDEEN, S.D. – #6 Winona State (19-3, 10-3 NSIC) went west and picked up their fourth straight win, this time beating #13 Northern State (15-6, 8-6 NSIC) in straight sets. The Warriors had seven aces in the 29-27, 25-9, 25-22 victory.
The first set was a barnburner that went back and forth and saw neither team gain much control. The Warriors led 13-10 after a Northern State attack error but the Wolves fought back and took a 17-15 lead. Winona State would come right back and led 22-19. It would take some time and the Warriors did have to fight off a set point before taking the set 27-25 following a kill from
Danielle Rampart.
Winona State would come out firing in the second set, blitzing the Wolves. It was close early on but the Warriors would outscore the Wolves 17-4 the rest of the way to win the set 25-9. Three Warriors;

Taylor Goar and Rampart all had at least seven kills through two sets. Rampart led all attackers with eight kills.
The Warriors jumped out 6-2 in the third set but the Wolves did not let the set get away from them. After pulling within one on a couple occasions, Northern State tied the set at 14, before taking a lead soon after. Leading 17-16, the Warriors made one final push in the match to beat their third straight ranked opponent, winning the set 25-22.
