Warriors Fall 1-0 To Northern State

WINONA, Minn – The Winona State women's soccer team fell 0-1 to Northern State Sunday afternoon. Northern State's Anna Bondy scored the lone goal of the match in the 26th minute heading home a rebound after Valkner saved the inital Wolves shot.

The Warriors had six shots in the opening 16 minutes of the match but could not get on the scoreboard. Winona State pushed for the equalizer late in the game, racking up three shots in the final seven minutes but did not tie the match.

It was a high contact matchup as both teams tallied 16 total fouls. Winona State had 15 shot attemps with eight being stopped by Wolves' goal keeper Stacy Cavill. Northern State had 10 shots with six of them being stopped by Winona State goal keepers.
 
Winona State had seven corner kick opportunities, but was unable to produce a goal. Northern State had four corner kicks on the afternoon, one of which led to the goal. Seven different Warriors had shots, led by Meg Riebau, with six shots and three on goal.

Prior to the game Winona State honored seniors Riebau and Kenzie Rose.
