WINONA, Minn. – Winona State (21-3, 12-3 NSIC) made quick work of the University of Mary (9-15, 4-11 NSIC) in straight sets, 25-12, 25-11, 25-14. The Warriors hit a whopping .453 in the match, their second highest match total of the season. In each set the Warriors had 16 kills and three errors. The win gives the Warriors victory #21 of the year, the most by a Winona State team since 1993. Winona State went 22-20 in 1993.
The Warriors started fast, jumping out 6-1. Mary could only close the gap to four and Winona State pulled away late for a 13-point victory. The last six points of the set all went the way of the Warriors.
Taylor Goar had six kills and no errors in the first set.
Jamie Cairncross added nine digs to lead the defense.
Winona State started even better in the second set, racing to a 9-1 lead. The closest the Marauders would get would be six as the Warriors breezed to a 25-11 set two victory. The Warriors hit .481 in the second set and were led by Goar and
Danielle Rampart, who each had four kills in the set.
In the third and final set Mary led for the first time all match. They would score five of the first seven points but Winona State would rally back. A 9-1 run would turn a two-point deficit into a six-point advantage and the Warriors never let Mary back in the set. The match would end with Winona State going on a 9-2 run.

McKenna Larsen had 37 assists and is now just two shy of 3,000 in her career.
Cairncross finished the night with 19 digs to lead all players.
