MARSHALL, Minn. –
Meg Riebau scored a pair goals and
Abby Bohanski added another in the 3-2 victory over Southwest Minnesota State. The win helped the Warriors complete a 2-0 weekend and move up to the ninth spot in the NSIC standings.
Bohanski would be the first to find the back of the net, scoring in the 17
th minute from a
Courtney Wiencek assist.
Darian Molter would assist
Meg Riebau get her fist goal of the afternoon in the 34
th minute. Just 27 seconds later Riebau would again score as she swerved a corner kick into the back of the net. 3-0.
The Mustangs were quick to strike back as Amanda Hartmann would score just five seconds later in the 34
th minute, making it 3-1. The five seconds between goals was the shortest time span between two goals scored by opposite teams in NCAA Division II history.
Southwest would add a goal in the 65
th minute Mustang Katelyn Toner added a score to make it 3-2. The Warriors were able to keep SMSU off the scoreboard for the rest of the match to earn the victory.
The Warriors finished 12 shots while the Mustangs had 10. Riebau, Bohanski, Molter, Wiencek,
Mikaella Sabinash,
Macy Miller,
Kendyl Keay all contributed shots in the match.
Bohanski and Reibau have a team-high, seven and four season goals respectively.
The Warriors (6-5-1, 3-5-1 NSIC) will be on the road for their matchup against Minot State (9-1, 8-0 NSIC) on October 15
th.
