ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Winona State baseball team dropped a pair of games Saturday, falling 3-0 to Drury before an 8-4 setback against Grand Valley State.
Nathan Krause led the Warriors in the opener against Drury, going 2-for-3 with a walk.
Daniel Karlin-Kamin (0-1) pitched seven innings of work, scattering seven hits with two earned runs, three walks and three strikeouts in the loss.
Grand Valley State scored runs in the second, third and seventh innings before a five-run eighth put the Lakers up 8-0. The Warriors put together a ninth-inning rally, getting RBIs from Taylor Field, Mitchell Heid and Kipp Youngquist, but were unable to make up the deficit, falling 8-4.
Joe Kubera led WSU with a pair of hits, while Jay Voter (0-1) was saddled with the loss, giving up six hits and three runs with a walk and three strikeouts in seven innigns of work.
Winona State plays a final game in Missouri Sunday with a rematch against Drury scheduled for 11 a.m.
