FAYETTE, Iowa – Winona State (11-1, 2-1 NSIC) was held to .091 hitting on Tuesday night, their second lowest percentage of the season, but still came away with a 3-1 victory at Upper Iowa (6-6, 0-3 NSIC). The Warriors had a season high 12 blocks during the 25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 25-21 win.
The Peacocks held a slight lead at 9-7 in the first set before the Warriors went on a quick run to take a 14-11 lead. Upper Iowa did not let the Warriors run away with the set and put together an 8-0 run late to take a 20-17 lead. Coach
Joe Getzin took a timeout and Winona State rallied for the 25-23 win.
Upper Iowa was up early in the second set as well but Winona State was able to hang with the home team. The Warriors were forced to take a timeout late in the set but this time they could not pull out the set, falling 25-20. It was just the second time all year the Warriors lost a second set in a match.
The momentum from the second set win stayed with Upper Iowa. The Peacocks led midway through the third set but it was tied late at 17. The Warriors closed out the set with an 8-2 run to win 25-19.
With the chance to end the match with a set four win the Warriors found themselves down 8-5 early. However, Upper Iowa could not hold the lead as Winona State jumped on the Peacocks with a 12-2 run. The set looked over but UIU dug in and tied the set at 21. Three straight kills and an attack error by Upper Iowa allowed the Warriors to escape with the 25-21 win.

- Wrage was one kill shy of her career high, finishing with 11 kills.
