WAYNE, Neb. - The Warriors (4-2-1, 1-2-1 NSIC) traveled to play Wayne State (4-1-2, 1-1-2 NSIC) on Friday afternoon to compete in what would become a 1-1 double overtime tie.

The Warriors were able to get six shots on the Wildcats with four on goal in the first half. Wayne State put up three shots, one shot on goal. Despite the pressure on net the score was knotted at zeros after the first 45.

The second half started out with two quick shots; the first went wide and but the next forced Warrior keeper
Jourdan Valkner to come up with the save. In the second half Wayne State had eight shots with three on goal. Wayne State would also have six corner kick opportunities, while the Warriors would have just one corner kick in the second half of action.

Courtney Wiencek,
Abby Bohanski was able to score her sixth goal of the season in the 52
nd minute making it a 1-0 Warrior lead. Bohanski has now scored one or more goals in the last four games this season.

The Wildcats would answer late in the second half with a goal from Brooke Buzzell in the 86
th minute, assisted by Hannah Knight. A corner kick with 23 seconds left would be the last Wildcat attempt to win the game before the end of regulation.

In overtime Wayne state would put up two shots, while the Warriors were unable to get a good look at the goal.

In the second overtime each team would get a shot attempt, but the clock would hit zero with the same score as regulation.

Bohanski and
Meg Riebau led the offensive attack with four and two shots respectively.
Justice Menge,
Courtney Wiencek,
Hayley Bach,
Chase Rehm and
Kirsten Windbiel would all contribute a shot as well.

Jourdan Valkner surrendered one goal while saving five on the night and is now 2-0-1 on the year.

This is the first tie of the season for the Warriors and the first since a 1-1 tie with Minnesota State Mankato last year in the NSIC Tournament.

The Warriors will be back in action at home on Maxwell Field, Sunday afternoon for a 1 p.m. start against Augustana (2-3-1, 1-1-1 NSIC).
