WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State gymnastics team opened their home season with a 184.150-182.400 win over Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday night.
The Warriors were led by
Eboni Jackson, who won the vault and floor events, as well as scored the highest total to win the all-around event. Jackson scored a 9.725 on her floor routine and a 9.350 on the vault. She won the all-around with a score of 37.650.
Kelly Johnston tied for a second-place finish on the beam with a score of 9.425. Jackson added a 9.250 and had second place finish on the bars.
Miranda Saathoff landed a 9.400 performance on the balance beam and
Alyssa Carroll completed a 9.350 routine on the floor event.
On the vault;
Alana Currin scored 9.225,
Kennedy Utz scored 9.200,
Samia Taylor scored 9.100,
Leah Messelt scored 9.00 and
Megan Tran scored 8.900.
On the bars; Sunny Hasebe scored a 9.150,
Katie Carling scored a 9.125, Liz Maher scored a 8.850,
Hannah Norman scored a 8.725 and
Katie Pipp scored a 7.550.
On the beam;
Eboni Jackson scored a 9.325, Sunny Hasebe scored a 9.150,
Katie Carling scored a 9.100 and
Alyssa Carroll scored 8.000.
On the floor;
Breanna Murray scored a 9.300,
Megan Tran scored a 9.250,
Kennedy Utz scored a 9.150 and
Leah Messelt scored an 8.650.
The Warriors will be back in the gym next weekend as they travel east to compete against the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh on January 20
th for a 6 p.m. start.
