WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University ran its win streak to four straight on Tuesday night in McCown Gymnasium, blowing past Michigan Tech University, 98-66.

The Warriors drained a season-best 16 three-pointers in their rout of the Huskies.

Tommy Gathje posted season highs in points (22) and rebounds (9), and Caleb Wagner tallied his second double-double in three games with 16 points and 11 assists.

The Warriors were on fire from beyond the arc in the opening half, knocking down 10 of their first 13 attempts and went into the break at a 10-for-15 clip.

Corey Jeffs went 5-for-5 from downtown in the first half, registering all 15 of his points on the night.

Mason Domask chipped in 12 points in the opening half, finishing the game with 16 on 3-of-5 shooting from long range.

Connor Flack matched his career-high with four buckets from downtown, and ended the night with 16 points.

WSU carried a 58-41 advantage into the break where defense was at a premium in the first half, but the Warriors turned up the intensity in the second half, limiting the Huskies to 25 points. Tech shot just 30 percent in the second half and went 2-for-12 from three-point land.

Gathje connected from downtown on the Warriors' first possession of the second half, and the rout was on from there. The junior led Winona with 13 points in the final 20 minutes of action.

The Warriors dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Huskies, 37-18.

Winona shot a season-best 62 percent from the floor while totaling a season-high 23 assists.

Winona State improves to 8-4 with the victory, and Michigan Tech falls to 7-5 after surrendering a season-high 98 points.

The Warriors resume conference play after the break on Saturday, December 30 at Minnesota Crookston.
