WINONA, Minn. - The Warriors will be competing at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire this week as a final tune up before they host the NCGA West Regionals and the WIAC Championship next week on March 17th.
LAST TIME OUT: It was a close meet between Winona State and the University of La Crosse as the Warriors fell to the Eagles 187.950-186.075.
The Warriors swept the beam with a first-place finish and a tie for second place. Natalie Koehler led the sweep with a 9.525 and Haruko "Sunny" Hasebe tied with fellow teammate Kelly Johnston with a score of 9.500.
Eboni Jackson had a first-place finish on the floor with a 9.750, followed by a 9.625 from Alyssa Carroll.
Katie Pipp landed a 9.500 performance on the bars for a second-place finish.
AMONG THE NCGA: The Warriors are currently ranked 7th in the NCGA DIII, and third in the NCGA West Region.
Eboni Jackson ranks 3rd in the all around competition and 7th on the floor exercise.
Katie Pipp is just outside the top ten, in the 11th spot on the bars.
SHAKING THE BOOKS: So far this season the Warriors have already made their mark in the record books. The team has had a top ten performances in the vault, bars, beam and team total.
Last weekend the Warriors turned out a WSU top ten finish in the team total, as well as a top ten finish on the bars with a 46.9250.
LOOKING AHEAD: The Warriors will host the WIAC Meet as well as the NCGA West Regional on March 17th. The March 17th meet serves as both the conference and the regional meet for the West Region of the NCGA DIII.
