Warriors Add Two Illinois Recruits

WINONA, Minn. – Winona State women's basketball is excited to announce the additions of Jenejha Williams and Alyssa Jurges for the 2017-18 baseball season. This increases the number of incoming student-athletes to six for next season.

"We are excited to add two more exceptional student-athletes and high character individuals from winning programs to our 2017 recruiting class. We have high expectations for both of them to contribute immediately to our program!" exclaimed Head Coach Scott Ballard.

Jenejha Williams averaged 16 pts, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks per game last season and is the school's all-time rebound leader and shot blocker. She went over 1,000 pts and 1,000 rebounds in her career and was Team MVP, All-Conference, All-Area and All-State.

"Jenejha is a 6'2 post that can really defend, rebound and block shots.  She posts up well, works hard and comes from a winning program at Streamwood High School in Illinois," said Ballard. "She has a tremendous upside and will give us length, depth and athleticism to our post positions."

Alyssa Jurges is a 5-8 shooting guard from New Lenox, Illinois. At Providence Catholic High School, Jurges averaged 18 pts/game and was named All-Conference and All-State."

"Alyssa comes to us after transferring from Lewis University with 3 years of eligibility remaining. Alyssa is an excellent three point shooter, passer and competitor and will strengthen our perimeter game with the loss of two guards to graduation."

These newest signees will be joining the following 2017 recruits who signed last November: Allie Pickrain 5-7 guard from Apple Valley, Minn., Emily Kieck 5-6 guard from Baraboo, Wis., Taylor Hustad 5-10 forward from New Prague, Minn. and Emma Fee 6-1 post from Burnsville, Minn.
