BEMIDJI, Minn. – Winona State University concluded its weekend road trip with a 4-1 setback at Bemidji State University on Sunday afternoon. Abby Bohanski netted the Warriors' lone goal of the contest.
The Beavers took an early 1-0 advantage less than 10 minutes after kickoff. Bohanski tied the game at the 17-minute mark on an unassisted goal, her second of the weekend and third of the season.
The Warriors and Beavers played the remainder of the first half in a 1-1 tie until the home team scored three unanswered goals in the second half.
Bemidji netted what proved to be the game-winner in the 51st minute of action. The Beavers proceeded to add goals in the 73rd and 84th minute to pad their lead, and shutout the Warriors over the final 45 minutes of the second half.
The Beavers uncorked 15 shots in their win compared to just six by Winona. BSU put 10 of its 15 shots on target.
Rachel Oleson was charged with the loss in goal while recording six saves.
Winona falls to 2-3-1 (1-1-1 NSIC) with the loss while Bemidji remains undefeated at 5-0 (3-0 NSIC).
The Warriors return to Maxwell Field on Friday evening for a 5 p.m. game against Wayne State College.
