Warriors and Peacocks play to scoreless double OT tie

WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University hosted Upper Iowa University on Thursday night to open conference play, resulting in a double overtime draw at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium.

The Warriors uncorked a season-high 21 shots, including 12 on goal, but the home team couldn't find the back of the net.

Winona had a handful of promising scoring opportunities in front of the net, but Peacock keeper Calia Petrie was perfect in goal.

Rachel Oleson was equally impressive in goal for the Warriors, halting all six Peacock shots that were on target.

Winona does come away with one point in the NSIC standings by virtue of the tie.

The Warriors return to the pitch on Sunday for their final non-conference game of the season against Central Missouri at 12 p.m.
