Warriors post season-best score in loss to UW-Stout

WINONA, Minn. – In their first official home meet of the season, the Winona State University gymnastics team posted a season-high score of 181 against UW-Stout, but it wasn't enough to prevail over the Blue Devils who finished the meet with a score of 187.55.

Senior Kelly Johnston help pad WSU's point total with a personal season best score on the balance beam of 9.65 to claim second place. Sunny Hasebe finished sixth with a new top score this year of 9.4.

Shelsea Zehr continues to impress early this season with a new career high score on the vault of 9.425 which was good enough for third place. Zehr also posted the Warriors' top mark on floor exercise (9.275).

Anna Hiller finished third on the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.025 to pace WSU.

The Warriors are back home inside McCown Gymnasium next Thursday against UW-Oshkosh. Competition is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
