CROOKSTON, Minn. - The #11 Winona State University volleyball team took care of business in efficient fashion Friday, downing the University of Minnesota Crookston, 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-18).
The Warriors (13-1 / 5-1 NSIC) have now won five straight matches and have stretched their winning streak over the Golden Eagles (1-10 / 0-6 NSIC) to 11 consecutive victories since 2011.Â
Megan Flom,
Sidney Paulson and
Lydia Lange led the Warrior way with nine, eight and five kills, respectively.Â
Bre Maloney had 20 assists to pace WSU on the night, while
Kami Knutsen added eight helpers. Defensively,
Becca Pagel had 18 digs, and Flom, Lange and
Kaleigh Beehler each racked up two blocks against UMC. From the service line, Pagel,
Casey Volkmann and
Cori Meyers all had a pair of aces.Â
Winona State registered a .363 hitting percentage in the match, including a .517 mark in the opening set. With the win on the road, the Warriors own an undefeated record in 2021 away matches and will look to extend that streak tomorrow against Bemidji State. WSU will take on the Beavers (0-14 / 0-6 NSIC). Start time in the BSU Gymnasium is set for 5pm on Saturday.Â
