St. PAUL, Minn. - The Winona State University women's soccer team fell to Concordia St. Paul on Friday by a 2-1 scoreline in the opening game of a two-match road trip weekend for the Warriors.Ā
The Golden Bears (5-4-1 / 4-2-1 NSIC) scored once in each half to build a two goal cushion, before Winona State scored through
Riley Harmon to cut the deficit in half.Ā However, CSP'sĀ Katie Glowinski's tally in the 70th minute proved to be the difference in the game.Ā CSP had taken a 1-0 lead into the locker roomĀ through a first half goal scored by Corynn Grabau.Ā
The Warriors were led by midfield
Missy Greco with four shots on the evening, two on goal.Ā
Jaida Wiege had three shots for Winona State on the evening, whileĀ Ā Goalkeeper Aly Jumper made two saves and conceded two goals in 90 minutes of work.Ā
For Harmon, her goal late in the second half was her second of the season so far.Ā The two teams finished tied on shots at 13 apiece, while Winona State had a slight edge in corner kicks, 6-5.Ā
The Warriors (3-6 / 2- 4 NSIC)Ā will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 10 when they travel to Minnesota State - Mankato for a 1pm kickoff against the Mavericks.Ā
