Winona, Minn. - The Winona State University women's tennis team earned a 7-0 win over Minnesota State - Mankato Friday night, extending their winning streak to three matches with a dominant performance.
WSU set the tone early, taking all three doubles matches to claim the opening point in the NSIC matchup. The Warrior pairings of

Mya Lubben (#3 doubles) took on MSU's #1 doubles Tyanna Washa / Dee Dokken, #2 doubles Lauren Goth / Kjerstin Hall and #3 doubles Sarah Johansen / Abigail Clayton, respectively. With 6-2, 6-1 and 6-0 victories, Winona State stood poised to make quick work of the Mavericks in singles.
In singles play, the success was sustained for WSU and head coach
Tom Sanvik, as
Rachel Kelly defeated Dee Dokken, 6-0, 6-1 in the #2 singles slot.
Sara Anderson won at #5 singles, beating MSU's Abigail Clayton, 6-1, 6-0.
Rina Niehoff's #3 singles win over Lauren Goth sealed the deal in terms of the Warrior win, but three matches remained in play in terms of a possible sweep.
Audrey Delich delivered at #4 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1 over Kjerstin Hall, while #1 singles saw WSU's
Beth Murman beat Maverick Tyanan Washa, 6-2, 6-0. The closest singles match was at #6, where
Brooke Holloway held off Sarah Johansen in the second set, to claim a 6-1, 7-5 victory.
Winona State (7-3 / 6-2 NSIC) will turn around and compete tomorrow, Saturday, March 27, when they host Southwest Minnesota State at 4:30pm in the Winona Tennis Center.
