BISMARCK, N.D. - The 11th-ranked Winona State Warrior volleyball program took care of business in Bismarck on Friday night, downing the University of Mary Marauders in straight sets, 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-14).
The Warriors won every statistical category possible in the match. WSU had more than double the number of kills in the match as their hosts, 45-20, and racked up eight blocks compared to just two for UMary. From the service line, Winona State dominated, accumulating eight aces on the evening, while the Maurders had but one.
Individually,
Megan Flom continued her outstanding season with 12 kills, four blocks and an ace.
Lydia Lange added 10 kills, and
Sidney Paulson had eight.
Bre Maloney dished out 34 helpers the match, while
Casey Volkmann led the squad with eight digs.
WSU racked up a .493 team hitting percentage for the contest, and
Becca Pagel reached the 200 dig mark on the season so far.
Moving to 11-1 on the season and 3-1 in NSIC competition, the #11 Warriors will wrap up their North Dakota road trip tomorrow with a 11am match at Minot State.
The Beavers (0-9, 0-4 NSIC) dropped a 3-0 decision to Upper Iowa on Friday. Winona State will play in the Minot State dome for the first time in nearly two years; WSU beat MSU 3-1 on Oct. 26, 2019 in their last meeting. WSU is 9-1 in the last ten against the Beavers.
