Winona State gymnastics concludes home schedule against UW - Oshkosh

WINONA, Minn. - Competing for the final time this season in McCown Gymnasium, the Winona State University gymnastics team hosted the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh on Thursday, Feb. 10 in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meet.  The Titans defeated the Warriors by a score of 190.375 to 181.900. 

Winona State claimed the top two places in the all around, with Bryce Stoltz earning champion honors with a 36.950, while Warrior teammate Kaitlyn West was the runner up in the all around with a 36.150.  For Stoltz, the accomplishment marked her second-straight all-around championship performance, having earned the same honor at Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday, Feb. 5. 

The top finishers for WSU on the bars were Breanna Ho with a 9.150 and Stoltz with a 9.050.  Emily Buffington, from UW-Oshkosh, won the event a score of 9.650. 

On the beam, Winona State was paced by West (9.400) and Stoltz (9.375). Taryn Sellner had the third-best WSU score in the event at 9.150 on the evening. Olivia Keller earned the event championship for UW-Oshkosh with a 9.700. 

In the floor routine, Izzy Kropiwiec earned second place honors and the highest Winona State individual event finish at 9.500. Camdyn McSweeney and West were the second and third highest Warriors in the floor, scoring a 9.300 and 9.250, respectively. The Titan's Olivia Keller took top honors on the floor at 9.525. 

In the vault competition, Stoltz, Ho and West earned the top three Winona State scores. Stoltz and Ho tied at 9.350, while West scored a 9.200, just ahead of Warrior teammate Katie Curtis with a 9.100.  UW-Oshkosh's Emily Buffington won the vault with a 9.600. 

Winona State is next in action on Friday, Feb. 18 at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, where they will face the host Blugolds and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. The WIAC Triangular will start at 6pm.
