EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Competing in their first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) quadrangular meet in over two years, the Winona State University gymnastics team earned a runner-up finish with 186.050 points at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire on Friday evening.
Leading the Warrior way was
Bryce Stoltz, scoring 37.850 in the all around competition, good for third place.
Kaitlyn West finished seventh in the all around with a score of 34.800.
Winona State swept the top two vault finishes, with
Kennedy O'Connor earning a score of 9.600 and top honors in the event. Stoltz took second in the vault while Warrior teammate
Izzy Kropiwiec was second in the floor exercise with a 9.625. The top WSU finisher on the parallel bars was
Breanna Ho with a 9.300.
The University of Wisconsin Whitewater won the quadrangular with a team score of 189.700. The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire was third at 185.225 and Hamline University rounded out the team scores with a final tally of 182.225.
Winona State will be in action next week when they travel to the University of Wisconsin La Crosse on Friday, February 25 for the final regular season competition of the 2021-22 season. At La Crosse, the Warriors will face UW - La Crosse, UW - Eau Claire and Hamline University. The quadrangular will start at 6:30 pm in Mitchell Hall Gymnasium.
