ST. PETER, Minn. - The Winona State University women's gymnastics team traveled to Gustavus Adolphus College for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meet with the host Gusties. The two teams competed in an extremely close competition and ended deadlocked in a tie with both squads scoring 182.050 points on the evening.
For the Warriors, the meet was the fourth competition of the season and their second WIAC dual meet on the campaign so far. Winona State last competed at GAC on Jan. 9, 2020, where they lost by a narrow margin to the Gusties, 178.626 - 178.150.
On Friday, WSU was led by
Bryce Stoltz who won the all-around with a score of 36.975. Warrior teammate
Kaitlyn West took third with a 35.375.
Three Winona State athletes captured medalist, runner-up or third-place honors in single events, as Stoltz won the balance beam with a score of 9.550 and
Breanna Ho took second in the uneven parallel bars at 9.250. Stoltz took third in the uneven parallel bars at 9.075. WSU's
Gabrielle Johnson tied for second in the balance beam at 9.300 with the Gusties Katy Cash.
Gustavus Adolphus was paced by Abby Willis and Sophie Redding who both won the vault event with tying scores of 9.400. Redding also won on the bars with a 9.325.
Winona State returns home to host the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. The home meet will take place in McCown Gymnasium, home of WNB Financial Court.
