Jacob Scott named NSIC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Jacob Scott, Winona State football's place kicker, was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after going perfect on field goals and point after attempts in the WSU win against MSU Moorhead on Saturday.

Scott, a sophomore from Flower Mound, Texas, went 4-for-4 on field goals and 4-for-4 on extra points, accounting for 16 of Winona State's points in a 40-7 win over MSUM.

Scott connected on field goals from lengths of 42, 43, 48, and 48 yards to become the first kicker in Winona State history to make four field goals of 40-plus yards in the same game.

So far this season, Scott leads the Warriors with 31 total points. He has connected on seven of 10 field goals and is a perfect 10-for-10 on point after attempts this season. Scott's 31 points leads all kickers in the NSIC and is good for fourth in points overall.

The Warriors (3-1) will host Wayne State (4-0) on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1pm.
