WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State University gymnastics team competed in their home opener this evening, where WSU ended with a third-place finish against UW-La Crosse and UW-Stout.
The Warriors tallied a team score of 180.300, while UW-Stout finished in second with a 185.150 and UW-Lacrosse earned team champion honors with a score of 188.425.
Kennedy O'Connor earned the highest mark for Winona State, scoring a 9.6000 on the vault to finish on the podium in second place. O'Connor also was the highest scoring Warrior on the floor exercise, scoring a 9.275 for her impressive routine.
Breanna Ho competed in the all-around competition for WSU, scoring 36.175 to finish third in the all-around standings. Ho was WSU's top finisher on the bars with a score of 9.350.
On the beam,
Sydney Parsons notched the best score for Winona State with a 9.325. WSU teammates
Camdyn McSweeney and
Kendra Aitken were right behind with scores of 9.275 and 9.250, respectively.
Winona State will now turn their attention to a meet at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday, Jan. 20.
