Winona State men's cross country competes at NCAA Regionals

JOPLIN, Mo. - The Winona State University men's cross country team concluded the 2023 Warrior campaign on Saturday, competing in the NCAA Men's Cross Country Central Region Championships hosted by Missouri Southern State University. 

Mitchell Johnstone led the way for Winona State, earning a top-40 finish with a time of 31:50.70, good for 38th overall. Andrew Metcalf was the second Warrior finisher, running a time of 33:13.28. Tyler Merrell followed Metcalf over the finish line, coming in at 34:26.16. Mitchell Buerkle and Connor Hallaway were the fourth and fifth finishing WSU runners, turning in times of 35:12.36 and 35:23.86, respectively. Jacob Lanzara rounded out the Warrior scoring at 36:29.13.

As a team, Winona State finished 25th overall; WSU tallied 625 points.
