WINONA, Minn. - The 2023 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships concluded with a bang on Saturday, March 25 in McCown Gymnasium, home of WNB Financial Court.
Nearly 1,200 raucous fans supported six teams and approximately 20 more individual competitors representing seven additional schools as the top NCAA Division III gymnasts. When the final song rang through gym, three schools from the University of Wisconsin system swept the team honors.
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh took home the team title with a score of 192.525, just edging the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with 192.325 points. The University of Wisconsin Stout took third as a team with 190.275.
The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire's Tia Ravara was the champion in the all-around, registering a score of 38.100. On the floor, Springfield College standout Christina Wygonik and Kelsey Gates of Rhode Island College tied with a top mark of 9.825. On the beam, Devon Rosier took home top honors for Springfield College with a score of 9.825. UW La Crosse's Rachel Chesley won the uneven parallel bars at 9.800. The vault was won by UW-Whitewater's Kara Welsch at 9.825.
For Winona State,
Breanna Ho led the way of the Warrior contingent, scoring 37.150 points in the all-around, good for seventh place and All-American honors.
Taryn Sellner scored a 9.425 in the balance beam event, while
Kaylee Bateman earned a 8.150 on the uneven parallel bars.
Kennedy O'Connor collected a 9.650 mark in the vault for WSU.
