LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Winona State University women's track and field team impressed at their second outdoor meet of the season, the Ashton May Invitational hosted at UW-La Crosse.
Shereen Vallabouy continued her dominance in the 400 meters, winning the race by over five seconds. Vallabouy crossed the finish line in a time of 53.34 to earn first place.
Alyssa Larson also ran in the 400 meters and earned a third-place finish with a time of 58.65 seconds.
In the 400-meter hurdles, three Warriors finished inside the top four.
Brooklyn Schyvinck finished first with a time of 1:01.96.
Regan Feit came in second at 1:04.95 and
Lainey Lipschultz took fourth with a time of 1:07.32.
The Warrior 4x100m relay team also ran to a first-place finish.
Daria Tersina,
Ashlie Lockington,
Courtney Lukas, and
Kaylee Olson teamed up to finish the race with a time of 49.58 to win by half a second.
Xana Leum and
Hanna Reichenberger both finished inside the top-4 in the 100-meter hurdles. Leum ran the race in 14.57 to finish third and Reichenberger finished fourth with a time of 14.73.
McKenna Taylor and
Sophia Taarud each finished inside the top-10 in the 1500 meters. Taylor finished fifth in 4:38.87 and Taarud finished ninth in 4:43.95.
In the field events,
Kaylee Olson led WSU to a victory in the long jump. Olson jumped 5.70 meters to win the event. Lockington took third, reaching a distance of 5.34 meters.
Mari Mohling finished tied for sixth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.54 meters.
The Warriors will travel out West next week as they compete in the Mt. Sac Relays and at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California.
