KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Winona State University women's soccer team traveled to Kirksville, Mo. to take on Truman State University in the final tuneup match for WSU before opening NSIC play. When the dust settled the Warriors found themselves tied with the Bulldogs, 0-0.
Truman State entered the match having scored just one goal so far on the 2023 season while Winona State was coming of a 2-0 shutout win at Upper Iowa last Sunday. Winona State would go on to enjoy their second straight clean sheet but were unable to dent the Truman State defense.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Winona State earned the first scoring chance of the game, gaining a corner kick in the third minute, followed moments later with shot by
Sarah Strating.
Reanne Weil added to the Warriors' shot tally in the sixth minute, forcing a save by the Bulldogs goalkeeper Tatumn Damron.
The two teams traded chances with the best scoring opportunity falling to WSU's
Quinn Williams, who hit the crossbar in the 42nd minute.

Winona State rolled out strongly to start the second half, with
Hannah Dunlavy's shot on goal just 1:22 into the final 45 minutes.
WSU looked to take advantage of a pair of corner kicks around the 54' mark, but were unable to put a chance on frame.
