Sidney Paulson and
Jaci Winchell were both named to the 2023 Northern Michigan University U.P. Open All-Tournament team, as announced recently.
Paulson and Winchell led Winona State to a 4-0 finish over their three-day road trip to the Upper Peninsula. WSU went 3-0 at the tournament, defeating Hillsdale College, Lake Superior State University and Northwood University. The Warriors opened their trip with a five-set victory at Michigan Tech.
Winchell dished out 172 sets over the weekend, good for a 9.56 assist/set average. The sophomore from Cannon Falls, Minn. also racked up 38 digs across the four WSU victories.
Paulson led Winona State in total kills with 67, averaging 3.94 kill/set for head coach
Joe Getzin and his team. The senior from Jackson, Wis. also was tops in the squad in points per set (4.26) and collected four service aces.
Winona State (4-0, 0-0 NSIC) travels to Kenosha, Wis. to take on four opponents at the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by UW-Parkside on Sept. 8-9.
