BISMARCK, N.D. - The Winona State University men's basketball team traveled to Bismarck, N.D. Friday, Jan. 19 in an NSIC contest, tipping off against the Marauders in a 7:30 p.m. game in McDowell Activity Center.
Winona State (10-7, 5-6 NSIC) used a pair of impressive performances to hold off host UMary, with
Connor Dillon and
Brock Voigt leading WSU to a NSIC road win. Dillon delivered 32 points to the WSU effort and Voigt parlayed a Warrior start into 19 points and three blocks to help steer Winona State into success on the road.

How It Happened
Winona State got off to a 10-3 start thanks to two 3-pointers from
Devon Fielding and two dunks by Warrior teammate
Brock Voigt.
The Marauders would battle back at the charity stripe with three free throws from Gerald Gittens to make it a 12-8 game.
After a five minute scoring drought from both teams, UMary would pull even at 16-16 with five straight points from Zyon Smith.
However, a key contribution would see
Connor Dillon knock down four free throws and a layup to help pull WSU to with three at 23-20 Mary.
A back-and-forth second part of the first half had a six-point run by WSU buffered by a UMary 3-pointer near the buzzer to give the home team a narrow 28-26 advantage.

In the second half, WSU would use a 3-pointer by Conner Dillon and a jumper by
Drew Adams to claim a 51-47 lead at the 8:21 mark.
Despite a pair of free throws by UMary's Nick Harrell,
Gavyn Hurley helped WSU stay in the lead with a bucket at 7:16 of the second half.
With WSU holding on to a two-point lead at 64-62 and under 30 seconds to play,
Connor Drew and
Connor Dillon both knocked down a pair of free throws to ice the Warrior win at 68-62.
