WINONA STATE VOLLEYBALL PREPARES FOR WARRIOR WEEK

WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University women's volleyball team is set to hit the road in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) where they face off against Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D. Following the Warriors match in South Dakota on Thursday, October 24, they head back to McCown Gymnasium for a home match against #11 Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, October 26 at 4pm. 

The Warriors hold a 13-8, 6-4 NSIC record while Augustana University posts a 10-10, 6-5 NSIC record. The Golden Bears hold a 14-4, 9-1 NSIC record as well. Winona State is on a three-game winning streak, with two of those opponents being ranked inside the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) top 25 poll.  


Winona State Notes:    

  • Winona State holds a 13-8, 6-4 NSIC record for the year so far. 
  • WSU defeated #7 Southwest Minnnesota State in their last contest.    
  • Quinn Robak led the Warriors with 13 kills in the Warriors win against SMSU last week.     
  • Ashlyn Steding has collected 29 service aces to lead the Warriors.     
  • Jaci Winchell has 446 assists to lead the Warriors.     
  • Abigail Savatski has 68.0 blocks this season.     
  • Senior, Kylie Welch averages 5.21 digs/set, good for third in the NSIC. 

Augustana Notes:  
  • The Vikings hold a 10-10, 6-5 NSIC record so far this season.   
  • AU head coach Jennifer Jacobs enters her eighth season at the helm of the Viking squad.   
  • Augustana most recently faced off against Sioux Falls, defeating them in three sets.  
  • Reagan Jansen leads AU in kills so far this season (224).    
  • Leading the Vikings in assists is Lucy Bartee (787).    
  • Gabby Jones has 283 digs on the year to lead the Vikings. 
 

#11 Concordia-St. Paul State Notes:  

  • The Golden Bears boast a 14-4, 9-1 NSIC record so far this season.   
  • CSP head coach Brady Starkey enters his 21st season at the helm of the Viking squad.   
  • Concordia-St. Paul most recently faced off against Southwest Minnesota State, defeating them in five sets.  
  • Sophia Andersen leads CSP in kills so far this season (199).    
  • Leading the Golden Bears in assists is Teagan Starkey (849).    
  • Cassie Sieling has 291 digs on the year to lead the Golden Bears. 
  • Claudia Stahlke leads the NSIC with 92.0 blocks on the year
