WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University Warriors dropped a heartbreaker against the University of Mary, 1-0, in their second to last home game of the season.
In the first half, both the Warriors and the Marauders battled up and down the field with both teams going scoreless in the first 45 minutes of the game. WSU was able to get four shots off with two of those landing on goal. The Warriors had
Jacey Sturek,
Kyleigh Jannisch, and
Madisson Watts all take shots. In goal,
Alyson Jumper was able to collect five outstanding saves to help keep the game scoreless.
In the second half, both teams came out on a mission keeping the game scoreless through half of the second half. UMary was able to find the back of the net off of a shot from Mo Malone barely out of reach for Jumper to take the lead, 1-0. The Warriors put up a fight getting six shots off in the second half with one of those being on goal.

The Winona State Warriors will round out the weekend hosting Minot State on Sunday, October 27 for their last home game of the season where they will honor their seniors for senior day.
