WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University Warriors fall to Minot State in their final home game of the season, 1-0.
Right away in the first half both the Beavers and the Warriors were back and forth getting a shots off but unable to find the back of the net. Minot State was able to find the back of the net by Anna Miotto, which was just out of reach of
Alyson Jumper's hands. WSU was able to get some good shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net. Those shots for the Warriors were from
Abigail Williams,
Faith Quinn,
Kyleigh Jannisch,
Catheryn Hudak, and
Sarah Strating. Jumper was able to collect three tough saves in the first half for Winona State.
Coming into the second half, WSU was determined to put the pressure on the Beavers. Unfortunately, the Warriors were not able to net a goal. Winona State was able to get five shots off in the second have from
Johanna Shubert, Quinn, and Strating. Jumper collected another hard fought save for WSU to keep the Warriors in the game.
Winona State recognized three seniors after the game,
Abigail Williams,
Alyson Jumper and
Callie Menzel, on their time as a Warriors and their impact to the program.
The Winona State University Warriors will be on the road next weekend first at St. Cloud State on Friday, November 1 at 6pm and then at Minnesota Duluth on Sunday, November 3 with kick off set for 1pm.
