WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State volleyball team travels to #15 Wayne State College for the first round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championships. The Warriors and Wilcats are set for first serve to begin at 6pm on Tuesday, November 19 in Wayne, Neb. The Warriors and Wildcats saw each other earlier this season with WSU dropping the match at home losing 3-1.
Winona State comes off of a weekend split, dropping Friday's match against #2 St. Cloud State University and turning it around against Minnesota Duluth winning that match 3-1.
Winona State Notes:
- Winona State holds an 18-11 record overall and 11-7 NSIC record.
- WSU earned the sixth seed in the NSIC Championships.
- Sidney Paulson and Kenna Kornely both collected 22 kills apiece last weekend.
- Gianna Vollrath collected 14 total blocks for the Warriors in their two games.
- Ashlyn Steding has collected the most total service aces in the NSIC and ranks third in aces per set.
- Kylie Welch is fourth in the NSIC in digs per set averaging 5.17.
- Abigail Savatski breaks the top 20 in the conference in blocks per set at 0.81.
#15 Wayne State Notes:
- Wayne State holds a 22-6 record and 14-4 in the NSIC.
- Head coach Scott Kneifl is in his 20th year at the helm of the Wilcats squad.
- WSC defeated the Warriors 3-1 in their first meeting this season.
- Taya Beller leads Wayne State in kills with 348 on the year.
- Molly Romano has collected 1069 assists for WSC.
- Taya Beller also leads Wayne State in blocks this season with 124.
