WINONA STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS HILLSDALE COLLEGE

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Winona State University men's basketball team defeated Hillsdale College on Saturday, November 23 by a score of 86-69.

The WSU men's basketball team looked to continue their impressive early season play, traveling to Wisconsin-Parkside in a neurtral site meeting between the Chargers and the Warriors, with Senior Connor Drew leading the way for Winona State.

How it Happened:
The Warriors would continue their high shooting percentage this season, shooting 65.52% in the first half and 54.5% for the game. The Chargers would get on the board first with a pair of free throws, but WSU would hit three straight three-pointers from Jhei-R Jones, Connor Drew and Tyler Mason, to gain an early nine point lead. Hillsdale College and Winona State would trade buckets after the third media timeout and a Jones three-pointer would put the Warriors on an 11-4 run to end the half. With Connor Drew hitting the final shot to close it out 46-29.

Nine points early in the second half for Luke Haertle, including a three-pointer would give Winona State a 24 point lead, largest of the game for the Warriors. HC would make a run late in the second half, cutting the lead to 14 points, but an exclamation dunk from Connor Drew would put the Chargers run to a hold. With the Warriors being too much for Hillsdale College, they would take the win 86-69.
