LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Winona State University gymnastics team took on UW-La Crosse on the road in a WIAC dual meet on Friday, February, 16.
When the dust settled, the Eagles captured top team honors with a score of 192.375 while Winona State was second with 186.975 points as a team.
In the All-Around, Winona State's
Bryce Stoltz earned first place with a championship score of 37.525. Warrior teammate
Jessica Miley earned runner-up honors with a 36.750.
On the Bars,
Jessica Miley claimed runner-up honors for Winona State, scoring 9.525 in the event. The Eagles' Rachel Chesley won the bars with a score of 9.750.
The Vault, UW-La Crosse claimed the top four finishes, including Rachel Chesley's championship mark of 9.750. WSU's
Bryce Stoltz was the top-finishing Warrior with a score of 9.675.
Taryn Sellner was the highest-placing Winona State athlete on the Balance Beam, scoring a fourth-place 9.675. UW-L's Raina Christenson won the event with a mark of 9.825
On the Floor Exercise, Winona State's Sellner also had the top Warrior score, taking fourth with a score of 9.775. Caelen Lansing of UWL was the floor champion at 9.875.
As a team, Winona State scored 47.700 on the Vault and 45.475 on the Bars. The Warriors collected a Beam team score of 46.225 and a Floor mark of 47.575.
Next up for Winona State will be a road trip to St. Peter, Minn., where WSU will compete in a WIAC dual meet at Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday, February 23. The Warriors and Gusties will see march-in at 6 p.m. at Gustavus.
