ST. PAUL - The Winona State University gymnastics team collected 188.125 points as a program at the 2024 WIAC Championships/West Regional Championships on Saturday, earning fifth place overall.
Competing in Hutton Arena on the campus of Hamline University, Winona State recorded team scores of 47.550 on the vault, 46.375 on the bars, 46.200 on the beam and 48.000 on the floor, outpacing the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire at 187.050 and just behind the University of Wisconsin-Stout, which scored 190.775 to finish fourth overall. Individually, Bryce Stotlz was third overall in the All-Around with a score of 37.900.
Izzy Kropiwiec was the top WSU performer on the vault, earning a score of 9.650. Warrior teammates
Madysen Diskerud and
Bryce Stoltz collected vault scores of 9.575 and 9.500, respectively, to claim the second and third best WSU scores in the event.
Kaylee Bateman registered a top Winona State score of 9.575 on the bars, while Bryce Stotz scored a 9.250.
Ellie Sampson also scored a 9.250 for the Warriors on the bars.
Taryn Sellner had the strongest WSU score on the beam, notching a 9.65 mark.
Bryce Stoltz earned a score of 9.475 on the beam and
Reagan Kelley had the third-best WSU score on the beam at 9.425.
The floor exercise saw two Warriors tie for the top program marks on the day, with
Taryn Sellner and
Bryce Stoltz both registering a 9.675. Warrior teammate
Madysen Diskerud scored the third-highest on the floor with a 9.625.
In the All-Around,
Bryce Stoltz had the highest Warrior score at 37.900 and
Jessica Miley registered a 36.300.
Winona State will await information regarding qualification for the 2024 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships later this month. The 2024 NCGA Championships will be held on March 23 in Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa.
