WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State University baseball team was dealt a end of the season loss against the Wayne State Wildcats in final game of a three game series.  
Winona State scored first, but Wayne State's bats were hot throughout the entire game allowing the Wildcats to out score WSU 16 to 8.

Started strong at the plate, collecting three runs in right away in the bottom of the first inning. 
Alex Berreth, 
Mason Trocke, 
Jess Ondell, and 
Joshua Hawksford all had multi-hit game accounting for nine of the 12 hits the Warriors collected
. Berreth accounted for the only Warriors home-run during the mid-day match-up. 
All nine innings of game three were back and forth between the Warriors and the Wildcats at the plate. With a handful of errors from both teams, also allowed for there to be runs scored both ways. Ultimately, the Wildcats bats proved to stay hot scoring three runs in the eighth inning and six runs in the ninth inning to take the win. The Warriors tried to make a bottom of the ninth rally, but were only able to get one run across before WSC getting the final out of the game. 
Winona State (21-28, 18-21 NSIC) wrapped up there 2024 campaign on their home field going 2-for-3 in their final series of the the season.
