WINONA, Minn. – Winona State men's and women's cross country are back in action on Saturday, October 4th at the Griffon Invitational hosted by Missouri Western State in St. Joseph, Mo.
Both teams will race at the MWSU Cross Country Course on Saturday morning with the women racing at 8:00am and the men to follow at 8:45am.
Women's Cross Country Notes:
- WSU is currently ranked No. 1 in the Central Region and No. 12 nationally in the USTFCCCA polls.
- The Warriors swept the podium to finish first at the Roy Griak Invitational their last time out.
- Sophia Taarud, Kylie Anderson, and Ella Voit went 1-2-3 overall.
- Taarud earned both USTFCCCA National and NSIC Athlete of the Week honors.
Men's Cross Country Notes:
- WSU finished ninth in their most recent race, the Roy Griak Invitational.
- Mitchell Johnstone has led the Warriors in both races this season.
- In their last time out, Winona State finished fourth among all NSIC teams at the Roy Griak.
- Robert Spain and Jacob Lanzara finished second and third for WSU last race.
