SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Winona State soccer suffers its second loss of the season, after losing 4-1 to the Augustana University Vikings.
The Warriors allowed four goals and were unable to respond until the 65th minute of the match. The Warriors move to 2-2-3 on the season and 1-2-2 in NSIC play.
How it Happened:
Augustana found the back of the net at the 22:30 minute mark; however, the Warrior defense responded and held strong. Up until the 55-minute mark, where the Vikings struck back. The Viking offense then added two more goals in quick succession, solidifying a commanding lead at 4-0 in the game. However, the Warriors continued to apply pressure throughout the second half, outshooting the Vikings in the second half.
The Warrior's response came at the 65:15 minute mark with a goal by
Johanna Shubert. Winona State continued to apply pressure to Augustana until the end; however, the Vikings were able to stave off any scoring opportunities.
