KENOSHA, Wis. – The Winona State University women's cross country team earned 11th place at the 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championships.
The Warriors tallied 353 points in the 6k race at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. Grand Valley State won the team championship with 65 points while Tristian Spence from Adams State earned the individual title with a time of 20:11.0.
The Warriors were led by
Sophia Taarud, who finished 34th overall with a time of 21:01.2 to earn All-America status.
Kylie Anderson came across the finish line in 21:37.0 in 79th place and
Kelsey Young was just behind in 85th with a time of 21:41.2.
Ella Voit ran the 6k race in 21:51.3 to finish just outside the top 100.
Stella Rusch was just a handful of spots behind at 21:55.4.
Lexi Terwedo (23:11.3) and
Libby Ray (23:24.9) rounded out the Winona State lineup.
This concludes another historic season for the Warriors, who won five events including the NSIC Championship and the NCAA DII Central Region Championship as head coach
John Hibshman was named both the NSIC and Central Region Coach of the Year.
