WARRIOR GYMNASTICS COMPETED AT THE UW-STOUT TRIANGULAR

MENOMONIE, Wis. - The Winona State University gymnastics team made the road trip to UW-Stout to compete against UW-Stout and UW-Oshkosh on Thursday, February 20. 

The Warriors competed in a triangular meet against the Blue Devils and the Titans in Menomonie, Wis. where WSU battled in all their events. On the Vault, Gabby Kraft and Jessica Miley tied for third place with a score of 9.725 and Kennedy O'Connor took first place with a score of 9.825. On the beam, Kraft finished fourth with a score of 9.600, just .025 points behind the third place finisher, Jay Ratkowski from UWO. Kaylee Bateman finished sixth on the bars with a score of 9.700 behind a three-way tie for third by Effie Ferguson, Sarah Lutz, and Jamie Beatty all from UW-Stout. On the floor exercise, Kraft finished in a tie for sixth with a score of 9.600 with Mia Lucero from UWO, with there being a tied for first and a tie for fourth. Winona State had an overall team score of 189.900 with UW-Stout collecting 191.900 point and UW-Oshkosh collecting 191.150 points. 


Winona State's team score of 189.900 broke into the top-10 scores in WSU history. The team vault score of 48.425 broke the record for the third time this season. O'Connor's 9.825 on the vault set the WSU individual vault record, breaking her own national championship score from 2022.

The Winona State University gymnastics team will be in action next Thursday, February 27 in Oshkosh, Wis., where the Warriors will compete against UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse and Greenville with grand march set to start at 6 p.m.
