BISMARCK, N.D. - The Winona State University women's tennis team battled hard against MSU Moorhead, taking an early lead in doubles, but eventually dropping the match 4-3 in closely contested fashion.
Doubles Action:
The Dragons started strong, claiming a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles. 
Miranda Daulong and 
Alexandra Madjun answered back with a crucial 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles against Tiannah Gu and Katryna Hansen, setting the stage for a decisive No. 3 match. 
Ally Burger and 
Clara Thoemke delivered a dominant performance, winning 6-2 and securing the doubles point for the Warriors.
Singles Action:
MSU Moorhead came out strong and took the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches. However, 
Clara Thoemke showed resilience at the No. 3 singles, rallying from a first-set loss against Katryna Hansen to win the next two sets convincingly, 6-0, 6-2. The last Warrior point would come from freshman 
Alexandra Madjun winning the No. 6 singles in another thrilling match by scores of 4-6, 7-5, 10-7.
The Warriors will look to bounce back when they travel to Orlando, Florida for their Spring Break trip when they face off against five different teams in six days beginning Sunday, March 9 and ending on Friday, March 14.
