WINONA STATE SOFTBALL HEADS TO FLORIDA FOR THE SPRING GAMES

WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State Univeristy softball team will fly down to Clermont, Fla. to play in The Spring Games over spring break with their first game set for Friday, March 7 at 11:15 a.m. EST/10:15 a.m. CST against Glenville State University. 

The Warriors will take their annual spring trip to compete in The Spring Games where WSU will play Glenville State, California University of Pennsylvania, Slippery Rock University, Dominican University, University of Findlay, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Ohio Dominican University, Saint Martin's University, Wayne State University, and Northwood University starting Friday, March 7 and going through Wednesday, March 12. 

Winona State Notes: 
  • The Warriors are 13-2 going into The Spring Games. 
  • Sam Keller leads the team with a .510 batting average, 26 hits, seven doubles, and a .554 on base percentage. 
  • Braelee Jodarski leads the way with eight home runs, 22 RBIs, and a 1.022 slugging percentage. 
  • In the circle, Izzy Howe leads the way with a 1.90 ERA, .95 WHIP, 57 strike outs, and an opponent .177. 

Glenville State Notes: 
  • The Pioneers are 5-4 going into The Spring Games. 
  • Zailees Seda leads the team with a .538 batting average, 12 runs, 14 hits, two triples, 1.000 slugging percentage, and .629 on base percentage. 
  • Delaney Warnick leads the way with four home runs and 15 RBIs. 
  • In the circle, Meghan Stump leads the way with a 1.40 ERA, AndiJo Howard leads with a 1.00 WHIP and opponent batting average of .197, and Kylie Burdick leads with 20 strike outs. 

Calfornia Univ. of Pa. Notes: 
  • The Valcans are 2-8 going into The Spring Games. 
  • Makayla Jerin leads the team with a .417 batting average.
  • Amarah McCutcheon leads the way with one home run, a .643 slugging percentage, and a .471 on base percentage.

Dominican University Notes: 
  • The Chargers are currently 2-2 at The Spring Games currently. 
  • Giovanna Salcido leads the team with a .467 batting average, seven hits, four doubles, a .867 slugging percentage, eight RBIs, and a .500 on base percentage. 
  • Emma Kaszovitz leads with two triples.

University of Findlay Notes: 
  • The Oilers are 7-1 going into The Spring Games. 
  • Meghan Heinsman and Annika Bredel both lead the team with a .444 batting average and 12 hits and both Heisnman and Bredel along with Joslynne Frazier lead with two home runs a piece. 
  • Heinsman also leads with five doubles, 14 RBIs, and a .852 slugging percentage. Bredel also leads with 12 runs and a .516 on base percentage.

Indiana Univ. of Pa. Notes: 
  • The Crimson Hawks are 3-1 going into The Spring Games. 
  • Madison Pikula leads the team with a .583 batting average, seven hits, four RBIs, and a 5.83 on base percentage.

Wayne State (MIch.) Notes: 
  • The Warriors are 3-6 going into The Spring Games. 
  • Rylie Josephson leads the team with a .550 batting average and a .625 on base percentage. 
  • Katelyn DeWitt leads the way with 11 RBIs and 13 hits, Elly Koopman leads with a .850 slugging percentage and has two home runs along side with Logan Forman.

Northwood Notes:

  • Brittany Stemeil leads with two doubles, Gabby Schloop leads with a triple, and Abby Robinson leads with three RBIs.
