WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University finishes 0-3 in three-game weekend series against the University of Sioux Falls after losing game three 7-5.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, the Warriors had a chance to take the lead with two runners on base but were unable to capitalize on the opportunity, giving USF the victory.

Payton Beyer got Winona State on the board first in the bottom of the second inning with a sacrifice fly to left field, allowing
Josh Gullickson to score from third base. The Warriors added two more runs to the lead in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run to right center field from
Alex Berreth. Isaac Bonner got Sioux Falls on the board in the top of the sixth inning with a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Dominic Vogel to score from third base. The Cougars took the lead in the top of the seventh, recording five runs with Noah Christenson crossing home plate on a fielding error, Nolan Drossel scoring from third on a throwing error, D. Vogel crossing home plate on a wild pitch, and a two-run home run from Ben Serie over the left field wall. WSU answered back in the bottom of the seventh when
Cole Fuecker hit a two-run home run over the left field wall. Sioux Falls increased the lead to two runs when Christenson scored from third base on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth.
