WARRIORS GEAR UP FOR TRIO OF ROAD CONTESTS THIS WEEK

WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State women's volleyball team hits the road this week, beginning with a Tuesday matchup at No. 13 Concordia-St. Paul, followed by a Friday contest against UMary and a Saturday finale at Minot State.

WSU will continue NSIC play on Tuesday, September 23rd at Concordia-St. Paul with first serve set for 6:00pm. The Warriors will then head to UMary on Friday, September 26th for a 6:00pm matchup before closing out the week Saturday, September 27th at Minot State with a 2:00pm start.

Winona State Notes:
  • Head coach Kristine Pelky has started her inaugural season strong, starting 2-0 in NSIC play and 7-3 overall.
  • Winona State leads the NSIC in average blocks with 2.42 blocks/set.
  • Kenna Kornely leads the NSIC in total kills while averaging 4.34 kills/set.
  • Gianna Vollrath leads the NSIC in total blocks while averaging 2.21 blocks/set.
  • Ashlyn Steding leads WSU with 235 assists and is averaging 6.18 assists/set.
  • Anna Hennessy leads the Warriors with 158 digs while averaging 4.16 digs/set.
  • Winona State looks to keep the train rolling after starting the season 2-0 in NSIC matches.
 
#13 Concordia-St. Paul Notes:
  • Head Coach Brady Starkey looks to continue early season success after starting the season 6-3 and coming off a win against #15 ranked Northern State on Saturday.
  • CSP is second in the NSIC for kills/set (14.53), assists/set (13.69), and hitting percentage (0.293).
  • Makenna Nold leads the entire NSIC for average kills/set with 4.41.
  • Mehlayna Straub leads the Golden Bears in total blocks with 30 (0.94).

UMary Notes:
  • Head Coach Rob Frost looks to bounce back from slow 3-7 start to the season.
  • Natalie Boehmer is top ten in the NSIC for assists and also leads the team in assists with 245 total and 6.81/set.
  • Katie Bleeker leads the team in digs with 132 and 3.67/set.

Minot State Notes:
  • Head Coach Alex Courtney looks to help bridge the beavers together after a slow 1-9 start to the season.
  • Caton Pearcy leads MSU in total digs with 100 and an average of 3.13/set.
  • Minot State is sixth in the NSIC for average digs per set with 15.29.
