KENOSHA, Wis. – The Winona State University men's cross country team opened the 2025 season at the Vic Godfrey Open, placing fourth in a field of eight teams.
Winona State was led by
Mitchell Johnstone who ran the 6k race in 19:26.0 to finish 15th overall.
Robert Spain was just a few spots behind, finishing 18th with a time of 19:35.3.
Jacob Lanzara and Calvin Redeker each notched top-25 performances and
Wyatt Harmoning rounded out the top-five finishers for WSU at 28th.
Today's fourth-place finish was the best finish in a season opener for the Warriors since 2022. Winona State will race next at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational on Friday, September 19th.
