WINONA, Minn. - The Winona State men's basketball team continues their 2025-26 regular season with a pair of road contests against the University of Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State University on January 23 and 24.

The Warriors will travel to Duluth, Minn. to take on the Bulldogs on Friday, January 23 at 7:30pm. WSU is 43-67 all time against UMD with the Warriors winning both of last season's matchups. Winona State will then head to Bemidji, Minn. to play Bemidji State on Saturday, January 24 at 5:30pm. WSU is 92-73 all-time against the Beavers, including defeating BSU 80-64 on January 11, 2025 in McCown Gymnasium.

Winona State Notes:

• Winona State enters the week 5-12 (4-8 NSIC) after splitting last weekend's games, falling 84-80 to Northern State and defeating Jamestown 79-70.
• The Warriors enter the 2025-26 season ranked ninth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. 
• Head Coach Todd Eisner is in his 11th season at the helm of the program. He is 163-130 during his tenure with the Warriors. 
• Winona State enters the week averaging 69.0 ppg and giving up 76.9 ppg.
• WSU is 45.0% (432-of-961) from the field and 31.6% (118-of-373) from three-point range on the season. Winona State is 74.0% (191-of-258) from the charity stripe.
• Gavyn Hurley averages a team-best 14.9 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per contest. He is second in the NSIC in field goal percentage at a clip of 57.7% (71-of-123) from the field.
• Ryan Heise looks to continue his steady season on both ends of the floor. Heise averages 12.8 points per game on 51.9% (80-of-154) shooting from the field and 38.8% (19-of-49) from three-point land.
• Tyler Mason adds 12.6 ppg while Aidan Bardic is leading the team with 3.0 assists per game.
• Following this week, the Warriors return home, facing the University of Mary and Minot State on January 30 and 31 respectively.

Minnesota Duluth Notes:

• Minnesota Duluth returns to their home floor on a four-game skid. The Bulldogs lost a pair of close NSIC games last weekend. UMD fell 80-77 to Minnesota State and 92-87 to St. Cloud State.
• UMD is 10-8 (6-6 NSIC) during the 2025-26 campaign.
• The Bulldogs enter the 2025-26 season ranked fifth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. 
• Head Coach Justin Wieck enters his eighth season at the helm of the UMD program. He has compiled a career record of 152-66 in his coaching career.
• Minnesota Duluth average 76.9 ppg while allowing 72.4 ppg to opponents.
• Caleb Siwek leads a balanced offensive attack with 13.9 ppg while Nick Katona averages a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game.
• Other notable scores are Kole Hanson (13.6), Noah Paulson (13.4), and Jackson Fowlkes (10.7).
• Following the game against the Warriors, UMD hosts Concordia-St. Paul on January 24 at 5:30pm.

Bemidji State Notes:

• Bemidji State is looking to turn their season around after dropping their last six games. BSU fell 66-55 to St. Cloud State and 98-83 to Minnesota State last weekend.
• BSU is 6-11 (3-9 NSIC) during the 2025-26 campaign.
• The Beavers enter the 2025-26 season ranked 12th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. 
• Head Coach Mike Boschee is in his 14th year with the team, compiling a record of 141-170 in his tenure with the program.
• The Beavers average 80.8 ppg while allowing 81.3 ppg to opponents.
• John Pecarich leads a trio of Beavers averaging double figures with 19.7 ppg.
• Offensively, Tate Olson (18.3) and Henry Shannon III (17.9) will be vital to the Bemidji State scoring attack.
